About Brandy’s Battle

Thank you for taking the time to visit Brandy’s Battle. Here’s the ABOUT timeline of what has occurred:

May 14, 2010: Brandy is told she has a mass the size of a volleyball on her ovary that needs to be immediately removed. Without health insurance due to her husband’s self-employment, Brandy is at a loss as to what to do next. Bloggers and friends come together to create Brandy’s Battle to help raise funds to support her in her time of need.

May 19, 2010: Only a few short days later, Brandy’s Battle has received nearly $1,000 in financial support as well as offers of donations and support from companies and bloggers. Brandy also was finally admitted to a hospital that was willing to treat her regardless of her ability to pay.

May 20, 2010: Brandy’s mass, nicknamed “Spike,” is scheduled to be removed on this date.

May 27, 2010: We finally find out that “Spike” was not cancerous but rather a Serous cystadenoma! As Brandy recovers, we continue to come together and support her battle.

To help continue to support Brandy’s recovery we will be holding an auction/fundraiser in early June and additional activities to support Brandy. Keep an eye on this space as well as we want to ensure that others in situations like Brandy’s get the community support that they need to fight their battle successfully.
